Student Terms and Conditions

First Responder Grants is very sensitive to the budgetary constraints necessary for our clientele and it has always been our goal to maintain our tuition costs at an absolute minimum. We have been able to achieve this goal through adoption of certain policies and procedures.


  • Approximately one week prior to your scheduled class you will receive, via email, an electronic file of the handouts that will be used during the class. These are generally in PDF or MS-Word.doc file format and you are responsible for printing those handouts and bringing them with you to the class, as there will not be printed handouts at the class. If you do not receive that email with handout files, within 3 days prior to your scheduled class, please contact the scheduled instructor via email or phone to arrange having them sent to you. This saves us shipping and printing costs which are considerable.


  • Our classes are “hosted” by other public safety agencies to avoid incurring “venue rental costs” and this holds down travel expenses for our students by being presented regionally. Sometimes local demands or unforeseen problems force an agency to cancel their scheduled class.  


  • Due to economic considerations, these classes are scheduled contingent upon a minimum number of students (15) being pre-registered to attend and occasionally the agency is unable to achieve that goal. Therefore 30 days prior to any scheduled event if the agency has been unable to recruit the sufficient number of attendees, they have the option of rescheduling their class to a future date to continue to recruit students or they may choose to cancel the class; this option is entirely the agency’s choice and is beyond our control.  


  • Because of this, we would caution students, that if they must book non-refundable air travel or hotel reservations that they NOT do so until within the 30 day window before their class and NOT before first checking with us to be certain that the class has been “locked in” for the date shown. Therefore First Responder Grants will not be responsible for and is unable to refund individual travel costs of any kind.


 Cancellation/Refund  Policy

We certainly understand and are sympathetic that, by the very nature of public safety work, that emergencies do occur which are unforeseen or often times unavoidable. In the event that you must cancel your registration, the following options are available to you.


  •  You may designate via email a substitute to attend any time before the scheduled class.


  • In the event of a work or family related emergency, the registrant may apply the course fee to any other similar type training course offered by First Responder Grants for the following 12 months.


  • Cancellation requests and requests for credit or refund will be handled on a case by case basis and must be sent, in writing (email or fax), and will be subject to a $50.00 processing fee which will be issued to you within 30 days . Requests should be addressed to:
