St. Johnsbury Fire Department had submitted applications for FEMA grants for years and struggled to be successful in this highly competitive process.
In 2024, we engaged in the services of First Responders Grants. Since then, we have been awarded two AFG fire grants and one SAFER fire jobs grant, totaling more than $400,000.
These awards have not only funded critically important equipment and staffing needs. They also allow our fire department to focus on other high priority fire department budget initiatives.
