Indiana: Applications Open till July 1 for Secured School Safety Grant
Schools across the state can apply for matching grants to enhance safety measures, such as hiring school resource officers, purchase equipment, technology, materials, training school employees and more. The deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. on July 1.
Minnesota: Over $20 Million in New Grants to Combat Opioid Crisis
With the rise of fentanyl use leading to an unprecedented number of overdose deaths, the Minnesota Department of Human Services is providing $20.1 million in new grants to 28 recipients to support those suffering from opioid use disorder, making it easier for them to access help. These funds will expand treatment options and bolster resources to strengthen communities and prevent opioid addiction.
Washington State: Spokane Valley eyes 3-year grant to expand police force by ten officers
Spokane Valley is considering using a grant to expand its police presence by ten positions, a decision that could save the city $1.25 million but result in a larger bill down the road. If approved, the Community Oriented Policing Services Hiring Program could bring the Valley $125,000 per new officer over the next three years, requiring a 25% local match.
Masschusetts: Wilmington Police Awarded Grant For SafetyNet Tracking System
This technology will significantly enhance our capabilities in locating and rescuing individuals who are at risk, such as those with cognitive conditions like Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, or other developmental disabilities.
South Carolina: Duke Energy supports first responders with $500,000 in grants for emergency preparedness in South Carolina
Duke Energy’s Emergency Preparedness and Storm Resiliency Grant Program was designed to help organizations with roles in emergency preparedness increase their resiliency to these events through advanced preparation, planning, equipment and training. Applicants could request funds up to $20,000. Grants were awarded to 33 nonprofits and governmental entities across the state.
