After being “volun-told” by my department to take the First Responder Grants two-day writing class, Greg Bavis and I worked very closely to get our grants together.
Once we had written the preliminary pages we went to work on specifics. After some time, our little department of less than 20 firefighters serving a town with a population of less than 1000 people we have been awarded 2 grants.
We were awarded a brand-new apparatus for $447,619.04 and 15 new SCBAs for $149,871.42.
For a FD that hasn’t received a Federal Grant EVER, we are more than grateful for Greg and couldn’t have done it without him!
