Celebrating 46 Years of Service in Vershire, Vermont!
First Responder Grants CEO and Senior Grants Consultant Greg Bavis attended Vershire Volunteer Fire & Rescue’s Open House in October 2026. VVFD celebrated 46 years of dedicated service to their community!
“It was a great opportunity to meet the dedicated individuals behind this volunteer department and see firsthand the strong sense of community and commitment that makes departments like Vershire so special,” says Greg. “Days like today are a reminder of why we do what we do.”
Vershire Volunteer Fire & Rescue was awarded $166,629 in federal funding through the FY 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. Their fire grant award replaces outdated Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
“Behind every grant award is a department filled with dedicated individuals who give so much to protect their communities,” adds Greg. “Being able to play a small part in helping them obtain the equipment and resources they need is what makes our work so rewarding.”
Thank you to Vershire Fire and Rescue for the invitation and warm welcome! Congratulations on both your well-deserved award and 46 years of service to your community!
