“Operational for grant recipients:” FEMA Grants Outcomes and Non-Disaster Grants System Status

FEMA GO for fire grants—such as AFG, SAFER and FP&S—is opened back up as of now, for anyone that needs to file payment requests and amendments. To be clear, grant application periods are not open, but prior grant recipients can access the systems for certain grant management tasks.

“This is a step in the right direction to getting AFG, SAFER and FP&S opened as soon as DHS gets funding,” says Greg Bavis, Senior Grant Consultant at First Responder Grants.

Here’s the official release from FEMA:

FEMA Grant Programs Directorate Information Bulletin No. 558

MEMORANDUM FOR: All Non-Disaster Grant Recipients

FROM: Erin Hoffman Senior Official Performing the Duties of Deputy Administrator, Resilience

Beginning Monday, March 23, 2026, the FEMA Grants Outcomes and Non-Disaster Grants systems will be operational for grant recipients. The Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will restart both systems, which have been inaccessible since the lapse in appropriations began on February 14, 2026. Grant recipients may now submit amendments and payment requests on all grant awards, including the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program.

However, because DHS is still in a funding lapse, federal staff will only be available to support the following grant programs:

  • Operation Stonegarden Grant Program
  • FIFA World Cup Grant Program
  • Countering-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Grant Program

Any amendments and payment requests that require federal staff action will not be processed during the lapse except for the programs outlined above.
