“On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company, we would like to thank you for your efforts in our recent award. We were awarded an apparatus grant to replace our 1973 converted military vehicle to a fully compliant new brush response vehicle.
“This award allows our members to now have a truck that is not overweight, has full seat belts, and an enclosed cab. The AFG award of $224,500 made this possible, as we could not budget for such a great expense.
“The staff at First Responder Grants went above and beyond in choosing the correct wording, statement of needs and financial requirements. We truly believe that this was the difference in receiving this funding. Greg Bavis is someone who has a passion for his job and gives 150% effort to guide and assist departments much like us.
“As this is our second successful AFG award (SCBA in 2018), we in Middlefield, Connecticut, will always enlist the assistance of First Responder Grants in all grant applications. Their knowledge and skills in navigating a complex process is made easy and understandable.”
