This Western Mass. city got awarded money for police body cameras
The police department will use a $250,000 state grant to implement a body-worn camera program, a step the city’s mayor says will improve public safety and enhance trust in policing.
Franklin Fire Nabs Second Biggest FEMA Grant in State
The Franklin Fire Department has been awarded $594,654 from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. These funds will be used for training and upgrades to both of Franklin’s Fire Station vehicle exhaust capture systems. Franklin’s was the second largest of the 45 grants awarded to municipalities in Massachusetts, Foxborough being the first, at $680,000.

This funding will be used to expand public safety measures, including fire prevention programs, firefighter health and safety research, and increase first responder personnel in Point Pleasant, War, Elk Garden, and Davisville.
Sen. Miller Secures $400,000 in Funding for Local Police Departments Ahead of National Night Out
In Allentown, $150,000 was awarded via an American Rescue Plan Act grant, which will be used to pay for a feasibility study of the fire department and the design of the police department, according to Allentown Chief of Police Charles Roca.
Mich. K-9 gets protective vest thanks in part to resident who worked overtime to help pay for it
Cpl. Rick Cadez sought a ballistic vest for his K-9 partner, Gunner, from Brady’s K-9 Fund, a nonprofit providing bulletproof vests for police and military dogs, according to the report. The fund, started by then-8-year-old Brady Snakovsky in Ohio, has provided vests to over 1,100 dogs.
