The Law Enforcement Advancing Data and Science Program: A Partnership between NIJ and International Association of Chiefs of Police
Established in 2014 through a partnership between NIJ and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the Law Enforcement Advancing Data and Science (LEADS) program is designed to develop mid-rank law enforcement officers who are committed to advancing and integrating science into law enforcement policies and practice. To accomplish this, merit-based scholarships are competitively awarded to mid-rank officers (sergeants, lieutenants, captains, etc.) who have effectively infused research into policy development within their agencies.
