Council voted to proceed with accepting the 2024 Community oriented Policing Services “COPS” Grant for $300,000 from the Department of Justice.

The North Hornell Police Department has received $9,900 in funding through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program for new office equipment. The grant will fund a new desk, secure lockers, storage cabinets, an evidence storage unit, and chairs.
Sandwich Police Department receives grant for new body worn cameras, announce additional equipment purchases
Senne says the grant from Small, Rural, and Tribal (SRT) will help with their purchase of 20 new body worn cameras for their officers. The program provides micro-grants to departments with less than 50 sworn officers as well as those in non-metro counties and federally recognized tribes with a designated law enforcement agency.
