$2.5 million in Round 1 FY 2023 AFG fire grants awarded to First Responder Grants clients and students

We at First Responder Grants want to congratulate our 10 clients and students who have won AFG fire grant awards! As of July 17, 2024, the following Fire Service organizations are confirmed recipients of AFG fire grants under Round 1 awards the FY 2023 program:

  • Gorham Fire and EMS, New Hampshire, portable radios, $57,699
  • New Hampton Fire Department, New Hampshire, hose and nozzles, $21,508
  • St Johnsbury Fire Department, Vermont, large-diameter hose and intake valves, $44,334
  • Kennebunk Fire Rescue, Maine, SCBA and RIT Packs, $569,978
  • McIntosh County Fire Department, Georgia, SCBA and RIT Packs, $595,276
  • Lake Jericho Volunteer Fire Rescue and Campbellsburg Fire & Rescue, Kentucky, regional grant for SCBA, SCBA compressor and fill station and RIT packs, $426,942
  • Itasca Fire Protection District, Illinois, source capture system, hose and appliances, training mannequin, $188,910
  • Colorado River Fire Protection District, Colorado, source capture system, $333,072
  • Attala Fire & Rescue, Alabama, SCBA and RIT Pack, $237,857
  • Pikesville Volunteer Fire Department, Maryland, cancer screenings, $64,772

The first round of awards were sent on July 12, 2024. As of July 12, 2024, FEMA has made 315 AFG awards totaling $52 million. You may view the individual award data in FEMA’s AFG Awards section.
