$420,847 in FY 2023 AFG, SAFER fire grants awarded to First Responder Grants clients and students

We at First Responder Grants want to congratulate an additional 3 clients and students who have won SAFER and AFG fire grant awards! As of Aug. 23, 2024, the following Fire Service organizations are confirmed recipients of AFG fire grants under Round 7 of the FY 2023 and Round 3 of the SAFER program:

  • Landaff Fire Department, NH, $56,089, portable radios, AFG
  • North Shore Fire Department, TX, $92,058, structural firefighting turnout gear, AFG
  • Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company, MD, $272,700, SAFER grants for recruitment and retention

The SAFER fire jobs grant award will assist Pikesville VFD with leadership training, an in-house scholarship program, recruitment and retention coordinator, grant administrator, an extensive marketing plan for the department, an LED sign board, and station uniforms for new members.

Combined, their awards total $420,847.
