Spokane Police Department Awarded Two Grants for DUI Officers

The Spokane Police Department has received two new grants for full time officers that will focus on enforcement and education surrounding impaired driving. One officer has been assigned as a full time DUI enforcement officer while the other is in a newly created position as a Impaired Driving Training Coordinator.

Jefferson City Council approves $580K purchase of radios for police and fire departments

The Jefferson City Police and Fire Departments are in the process of receiving 79 new Motorola radios, the purchase totaling $582,326.60 in various grants approved by the Jefferson City Council on Monday.

$700k federal grant to help Knoxville Police investigate gun crimes

The department shared on Wednesday that it was one of three cities selected nationwide to receive the maximum grant award amount from the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s 2024 Local Law Enforcement Crime Gun Integration Initiative. The funds are intended to enhance its ability to quickly identify individuals who are engaged in violent crime, the guns used in those crimes, and their sources.

The City of Calhoun Police Department announced that it has been awarded two major grants. The first is a traffic enforcement grant in the amount of $31,157 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in Atlanta.

Governor Ivey Awards Over $7.6 Million for Alabama Highway Safety Enforcement

The grants provided to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and the state’s traffic safety regions covering all 67 counties will help fund major highway safety campaigns including “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.” The funds will also enable law enforcement agencies to increase traffic patrols in areas with high crash rates and other traffic violations.
