FEMA has posted 2 important application updates for the 2015 AFG Program: Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Inventory, and Department Budget.
Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Inventory
For the 2015 Program, applicants must complete two inventory sections in the application for their existing SCBA. The first section is the traditional PPE inventory that is normally used for Turn Out gear and lists your inventory by year of age. This section must also be completed for your SCBA inventory. The second inventory section is the traditional SCBA inventory that lists your SCBA inventory by year of the NFPA edition they are compliant with.
In order for SCBA to be considered obsolete, the items must be a minimum of two NFPA cycles, and 10 years of age or older from the date they were manufactured. Therefore, both inventory sections must be completed in the 2015 application.
Department Budget, Under Department Characteristics Part 2
The “other” category is no longer available when breaking out your department’s budget by source, but the total percentage break-down among sources must still equal 100 percent. In order to be able to proceed with the application, you must adjust the percentages among budget sources until they equal 100 percent. You must then provide the relevant detail about all your budget sources in the narrative sections.
As a reminder, please make sure that any identifying information you use in the application is identical to that in your SAM.gov profile.
