Get ready now for a competitive AFG application period
ATTENTION: All prospective 2015 AFG applicants
All Fire and EMS departments are advised that the 2015 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG) is predicted to open in mid-November. The closing date is expected to be just before Christmas 2015. That means we will be dealing with the holidays, adding extra time pressures on departments applying for AFG.
Departments seeking First Responder Grants AFG assistance
If you intend to file a 2015 AFG application, you should be writing your rough drafts at this time with the intent of having those rough drafts to Kurt Bradley for review and commenting by not later than Nov 1.
If you have not previously discussed your 2015 AFG application project with Kurt personally, call 863-551-9598 immediately to discuss, so that we can get you on track and keep you on time. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
Last year’s AFG was the single most competitive grant year we have ever had in AFG, and this year looks to be a repeat of the same. Your applications must be A+ applications to get funded. Funding scoring lines were moved upwards this year, which means your application had to literally be in top 2-5% of all applications received, in order to be funded. Turn-down rates this year are at about 80% of all applications received.
Don’t delay, start today!
