$1,605,596 in Firefighter Hiring Grants Awarded in Round 10 SAFER 2014

Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) GrantsFEMA – Sept. 4, 2015 – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the tenth award round for the Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response (SAFER) firefighter hiring and recruitment grants program.

FEMA awarded $1,605,596 to 7 Fire Service organizations throughout the US. Fire grant awards for firefighter hiring and fire service recruitment included:

  • $27,280, Atlantic Steamer Fire Company., Oyster Bay, NY, Recruitment
  • $57,080, Union FIre Company No. 1, Crosswicks, NJ, Recruitment
  • $87,080, Town of Canton, Canton, NC, Hiring
  • $144,760, Adams Fire Company Inc., North Tonawanda, NY, Recruitment
  • $367,400, Jefferson County Rural Fire Protection District #1, Madras, OR, Recruitment
  • $407,853, Liberty Fire District, Inc., DeFuniak Springs, FL, Recruitment
  • $514,143, Pasco County Emergency Services, Land O Lakes, FL, Recruitment
