FEMA – Sept. 4, 2015 – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the tenth award round for the Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response (SAFER) firefighter hiring and recruitment grants program.
FEMA awarded $1,605,596 to 7 Fire Service organizations throughout the US. Fire grant awards for firefighter hiring and fire service recruitment included:

- $367,400, Jefferson County Rural Fire Protection District #1, Madras, OR, Recruitment
- $407,853, Liberty Fire District, Inc., DeFuniak Springs, FL, Recruitment
- $514,143, Pasco County Emergency Services, Land O Lakes, FL, Recruitment
