The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the forty-first award round for the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP).
FEMA awarded $1,682,487 Operations and Safety Fire Grants to 8 agencies. Award amounts for Fire Grants ranged from a $18,430 Equipment grant, awarded to the Boldo Fire & Rescue, Jasper, AL; to a $1,280,000 Equipment grant award to the Albuquerque Fire Department, Albuquerque, NM.
To-date 2459 fire grants totaling $280,205,765 have been awarded, with 2,358 awards for $249,292,966 for Operations and Safety Grants, and 101 awards for $71,406,250 for Vehicle Acquisition Grants. The average award size has been $105,722 for Operations and Safety, and $306,067 for Vehicle Acquisition. The total appropriation for FY2012 AFG is $285,625,000, with $214,218,750 allocated for Operations and Safety Grants, and $71,406,250 allocated for Vehicle Acquisition Grants.
