The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the forty-third award round for the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP).
FEMA awarded 8 Operations and Safety Fire grants, totaling $264,284, to departments and organizations around the country. Award amounts ranged from a $14,421 Equipment and PPE grant, awarded to the Pine-Bardley Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., Doniphan, MO, to a $70,224 Equipment grant, awarded to the K.A.W. Fire Protection District, Altamont, MO.
To-date 2,471 fire grants totaling $281,027,858 have been awarded, with 2,370 awards for $250,115,059 for Operations and Safety Grants, and 101 awards for $30,912,799 for Vehicle Acquisition Grants. The average award size has been $105,533 for Operations and Safety, and $306,067 for Vehicle Acquisition. The total appropriation for FY2012 AFG is $285,625,000, with $214,218,750 allocated for Operations and Safety Grants, and $71,406,250 allocated for Vehicle Acquisition Grants.
