The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the first award round for the FY2013 Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response Grants (SAFER).
FEMA awarded 14 Fire grants, totaling $54,586,977, to departments around the country. Award amounts ranged from a $66,125 Hiring grant, awarded to Palmer Fire & Rescue, Palmer, AK, to a $24,206,400 Hiring grant, awarded to the Detroit (MI) Fire Department, Detroit, MI.
