The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the forty-second award round for the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP).
FEMA awarded 4 Operations and Safety Fire grants, totaling $557,809, to the following departments around the country:
- Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, Atlanta, GA, $413,463, Modify Facilities and Training
- Fountain Vol. Fire Dept., Fountain, MN, $91,435, Equipment
- Ratcliff City Volunteer Fire Department, Ratcliff, AR, $43,008, Personal Protective Equipment
- Ruston Fire Department, Ruston, WA, $9,903, Equipment
To-date 2,463 fire grants totaling $280,763,574 have been awarded, with 2,362 awards for $249,850,775 for Operations and Safety Grants, and 101 awards for $30,912,799 for Vehicle Acquisition Grants. The average award size has been $105,779 for Operations and Safety, and $306,067 for Vehicle Acquisition. The total appropriation for FY2012 AFG is $285,625,000, with $214,218,750 allocated for Operations and Safety Grants, and $71,406,250 allocated for Vehicle Acquisition Grants.
