From coast to coast, 6 First Responder Grants clients won a combined $500,656 in fire grants from the FY 2018 Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. These awards were announced as part of the Round 3 AFG fire grant awards announced Sept. 6, 2019.
This week’s winners included:
- Canterbury FD, NH, $118,050
- Union Vale FD, NY, $162,500
- Village of Merrionette FD, IL, $126,250
- Beaver Falls FD, PA, $22,781
- Whatcom County FPD #17, WA, $19,587
- Hutchins FD, TX, $51,488
AFG fire grants are administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
“Departments of all sizes can win AFG,” says Kurt Bradley, Senior Grants Consultant at First Responder Grants. “The key is organization, knowing how to write a solid grant, and having your information and priorities in order.”
To date in FY 2018 AFG fire grant awards, 9 First Responder Grants clients and students have won a combined $1,456,426.
