Oct. 25, 2013 – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the forty-sixth award round for the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP).
FEMA awarded 3 Operations and Safety Fire grants, totaling $875,001, to departments and organizations around the country:
- South Plattsburgh Fire District, Plattsburgh, NY, Operations and Safety (Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment, PPE), $70,590
- Apollo Hose Company #2, Apollo, PA, Operations and Safety (Personal Protective Equipment, PPE), $88,084
- City of Sunnyvale, Sunnyvale, CA, Operations and Safety (Equipment), $716,327
To-date 2,490 fire grants totaling $282,658,177 have been awarded, with 2,389 awards for $251,745,378 for Operations and Safety Grants, and 101 awards for $30,912,799 for Vehicle Acquisition Grants. The average award size has been $105,376 for Operations and Safety, and $306,067 for Vehicle Acquisition. The total appropriation for FY2012 AFG is $285,625,000, with $214,218,750 allocated for Operations and Safety Grants, and $71,406,250 allocated for Vehicle Acquisition Grants.
