$42,461,444 in Firefighter Hiring Grants Awarded in Round 11 SAFER 2014

FEMA – Sept. 11, 2015 – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the eleventh award round for the Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response (SAFER) firefighter hiring and recruitment grants program.

FEMA awarded $42,461,444 to 16 Fire Service organizations throughout the US. Fire grant awards for firefighter hiring and fire service recruitment included:

  • $310,916, Recruitment, Kelseyville Fire Protection District, Kelseyville, CA
  • $699,600, Recruitment, City of Antelope Fire Department, Antelope, OR
  • $1,015,495, Hiring, City of Norwood Fire Division, Norwood, OH
  • $1,489,518, Hiring, Little Elm Fire Department, Little Elm, TX
  • $1,584,952, Hiring, Everett Fire Department, Everett, MA
  • $1,722,056, Hiring, Scranton Fire Department, Scranton, PA
  • $2,858,113, Recruitment, International Association of Fire Chiefs, Fairfax, VA
  • $4,443,404, Hiring, City of Killeen/Fire Department, Killeen, TX
  • $21,517,020, Hiring, Atlantic City Fire Department, Atlantic City, NJ
