AFG applicants: FEMA wants to hear from you

Speak your piece during FEMA’s Post-Application Listening Sessions for FY 2022 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG)

AFG fire grant news from FEMA

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program is constantly seeking ways to improve. In FY 2022 there were nearly 8,000 fire departments that submitted applications for funding.

FEMA is now asking those applicants to attend a listening session to share your experience. The discussion will include

the usability of online systems such as the System for Award Management (SAM.gov), the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS), and FEMA GO;

  • availability of technical assistance;
  • application completion and submission;
  • and any other identified issues.

In return, FEMA hopes to use your comments and suggestions to improve the AFG program. FEMA will also take time to answer any questions you may have about the program.
