What does an infrastructure law have to do with the Fire Service?
Quite a bit, as it turns out.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is now law. It also turns out that the law contains multiple provisions that can benefit the Fire Service, including:
- Wildfires
- Motor vehicle safety
- Electric vehicles and fire safety
- Hazmat response training
A separate bill, the Protecting America’s First Responders Act, has also been signed into law. This law “expands the Public Safety Officer Benefits (PSOB) program,” and has crucial provisions for many first responders.
