The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the fifth award round for the FY2013 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) fire grants program.
FEMA awarded $1,588,794 to 25 Fire Service organizations throughout the US. Awards ranged from a $15,200 All-Volunteer Equipment Fire Grant, awarded to the Winterboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Inc., Talladega, AL, to a $342,135 All Paid/Career Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Fire Grant, awarded to the Tupelo Fire Department, Tupelo, MS.
Round 5 award allocations:
- Operations & Safety: 23 awards, $1,294,430
- Vehicles: 1 awards, $139,650
- State Fire Training Academy: 1 awards, $154,714
Total FY2013 appropriations are $280,163,233: $201,717,528 for Operations & Safety fire grants, $70,040,808 for Vehicle fire grants, and $8,404,897 for State Fire Training Academy fire grants. To-date, 302 fire grants totaling $23,284,292 have been awarded.
