The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the forty-fourth award round for the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP).
FEMA awarded 8 Operations and Safety Fire grants, totaling $511,871, to departments and organizations around the country. Award amounts ranged from a $4,750 Equipment grant, awarded to the Washington Fire and Rescue, Washington, NH, to a $123,120 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) grant, awarded to the Wysox Volunteer Fire Company, Wysox, PA.
To-date 2,479 fire grants totaling $281,539,729 have been awarded, with 2,378 awards for $250,626,930 for Operations and Safety Grants, and 101 awards for $30,912,799 for Vehicle Acquisition Grants. The average award size has been $105,394 for Operations and Safety, and $306,067 for Vehicle Acquisition. The total appropriation for FY2012 AFG is $285,625,000, with $214,218,750 allocated for Operations and Safety Grants, and $71,406,250 allocated for Vehicle Acquisition Grants.
