We at First Responder Grants want to congratulate an additional 7 clients and students who have won not only AFG fire grant awards, but one of the first rewards given under the FY 2023 SAFER fire jobs grants!
As of Aug. 2, 2024, the following 6 Fire Service organizations are confirmed recipients of AFG fire grants under the FY 2023 program:
- Lauderdale County Ambulance, Tennessee, $386,363, power stretchers and cardiac monitors
- Big River Fire Protection District, Missouri, $53,960, hose and appliances
- Bristol Fire Department, Maine, $171,428, SCBA
- Brierfield Fire and Rescue, Alabama, $94,551, two cardiac monitors and four-year extended service warranty
- Cranesville Fire Department, Pennsylvania, $82,568, hose and nozzles
- Southern area Fire and Emergency Rescue, Pennsylvania, $179,620, SCBA
The SAFER program also released their first round of awards. Only 5 Fire Service Organizations were awarded, including:
- City of Northwood, Ohio, $939,820, SAFER hiring grant: hiring of 3 firefighters, including base salary and benefits for 3 years
Combined, their awards total $1,908,310.
