$34,611,000 in AFG fire grants awarded by FEMA
On Sept. 23, 2024, FEMA announced Round 12, the final award round of FY 2023 fire grant awards under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP).
This final round awarded 20 AFG fire grant awards, totaling approximately $34,611,000, to Fire Service organizations across the USA.
Of the 20 awards, 3 Vehicle Acquisition grants totaling $4,249,649 were awarded. The other 17 awards, totaling $30,361,351, were awarded under the Operations and Safety program. To date, 1,639 fire grants totaling $324,390,100 have been awarded.
Since 2015 alone, FEMA has awarded over 20,000 fire grants under the AFG program. More award details available here from FEMA.
FY 2024 AFG expected to open for applications in October
With award rounds finishing, the FY 2024 application period is expected to open in mid-October.
