Federal public safety grants update from FEMA
Programmatic Performance Reports Available
For the first time, recipients in the Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program can do their Programmatic Performance Reporting (PPR) online. This reporting provides a summary of progress made toward the goal of the awarded project.
Recipients who received an award through the FEMA Grants Outcome (FEMA GO) system now must prepare and submit the PPR through FEMA GO for the following programs:
- Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG).
- Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Grants; and
- Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grants.
Recipients must submit programmatic performance reports as a condition of their award acceptance. Future awards and funds drawdown may be withheld if these reports are delinquent.
PPR submission should be finalized by April 30, 2022.
AFGP Final Performance Report (Closeout) Update
Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program award recipients must submit a final performance report or “closeout” documents at the end of their grant period of performance. Many recipients are at or approaching the end of their period of performance. Some have completed their project and would like to close the grant. The closeout module has not been finalized in the FEMA GO system. Final Performance Report functionality is expected to be available in fall 2022 for AFGP grants award in Fiscal Year 2018 and later.
What Can You Do in the Meantime?
Gather your grant documents (quotes, receipts, cancelled checks, and bank statements) for these documents will make the completion of the final performance report easier. Make a note of how the grant funding was used and how your organization benefited.
