$5,899,640 in FY 2023 AFG fire grants awarded to First Responder Grants clients and students

We at First Responder Grants want to congratulate an additional 21 clients and students who have won AFG fire grant awards! As of Aug. 16, 2024, the following Fire Service organizations are confirmed recipients of AFG fire grants under Round 6 of the FY 2023 and Round 2 of the SAFER program:

  • Lauderdale County Ambulance, Tennessee, $166,050, ambulance
  • Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, Virginia, $348,389, ambulance
  • Hadley Fire Department, Massachusetts, $50,477, Vehicle Exhaust Removal System
  • Three Rivers Fire Department, Massachusetts, $287,143, a forestry vehicle
  • Sheldon Fire Department, Vermont, $27,248, hose and nozzles
  • West Boylston Fire Department, Massachusetts, $523,809, forestry apparatus
  • West Boylston Fire Department, Massachusetts, $238,095, SCBA and RIT kit
  • Lebanon Fire and EMS, Maine, $690,477, fire apparatus tanker/tender
  • Somerville Volunteer Fire Department, Maine $447,619, fire apparatus tanker/tender
  • Berwick Fire Department, Maine, $266,667, SCBA
  • Gray Fire & Rescue, Maine, $53,473, hose and nozzles
  • Southwick Fire Department, Massachusetts, $63,196, power cot and load system
  • West Frankfort Fire Department, Maine, $129,405, SCBA and RIT pack
  • Rio Rico Fire District, Arizona, $951,489, fire apparatus engine
  • Dogtown Volunteer Fire Department, Alabama, $908,757, a regional communications grant that will support 24 volunteer fire departments, Dekalb County Alabama, portable radios
  • Sylvania Fire Department, Alabama, $71,494, hose and appliances
  • Depew Fire Department, New York, $32,880, gear extractor and gear dryer
  • Callisburg Volunteer Fire Department, Texas, $144,286, SCBA and RIT pack
  • Westville Fire Protection District, Illinois, $197,890, SCBA and RIT pack
  • Itasca Fire Protection District, Illinois $40,796, Fire Prevention and Safety, Home Safety Visit Program award last week
  • Richton Park Fire Department, Illinois, SAFER Recruitment and Retention, $260,000

Combined, their awards total $5,899,640.
