From coast to coast, 7 First Responder Grants clients won a combined $1,073,179 in fire grants from the FY 2018 Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program and the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER). These awards were announced as part of the 325 Rounds 4 and 5 AFG fire grant awards and the 123 SAFER fire jobs grant awards announced Sept. 11 and 13, 2019.
This week’s winners included:
5 AFG awardees, for a total of $311,512:
- Ross Township, OH, SCBA Compressor, $63,012
- Herculaneum, MO, Washer/Extractor, Structural Turnout Gear, $83,700
- Hualapai NES, AZ, Washer extractor/structural turnout gear, $70,300
- Fort Lee FD, NJ, SCBA, $55,500
- Southwick FD, MA, Hydraulic Rescue Tools, $39,000
2 SAFER awardees, for a total of $761,667:
- Dwight Fire Protection District, IL, $283,000
- Waxahachie FD, TX, $478,667
AFG and SAFER fire grants are administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
